Glue-down vinyl flooring is becoming an ever-increasingly popular flooring choice with our clients.

The benefits of glue down vinyl include:

  • Excellent waterproof floor covering
  • Quieter than most floor coverings and
  • Warmer than ceramic/porcelain tiles and laminate flooring.

In addition, vinyl glue down requires no additional trims, other than stair nosings (if stairs are required).

It is important to note, the most critical element when fitting vinyl glue down is the preparation of the floor on to which the vinyl will be applied. A well-prepped smooth subfloor can be the make or break of the project.

With all our vinyl glue-down installations, we use a specialized floor skim (over existing cement or tiled floors) in conjunction with the correct floor skim tools.

Vinyl glue-down flooring is available in different plank thicknesses and protective layers, namely:

Plank thicknesses – 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm
Protective layers – .30mm, .40mm, .50mm and .55mm

Increased plank thickness and greater protective layers, have a bearing on price and the recommended environment in which they can be applied.

Vinyl Flooring Price Per M2

Turnkey prices (for floor preparation/floor skim, vinyl supply and installation), starting at R495/sqm incl vat, floor skim etc based on an area of 35sqm minimum, up to R750/sqm, depending on product grade selection and a site assessment.

Our 2mm thick/.30mm protective layer vinyl glue down planks, are mostly suited to a medium to heavy foot traffic home; whilst the 2.5mm/3mm thick .55mm protective layer ranges, can be used in light to heavy commercial environments.

There are several factors that determine vinyl flooring pricing which needs to be discussed. We recommend one of our sales team conduct a site visit, prior to providing a quotation.
