Community Spirit is the willingness and desire to participate in activities that promote a community. A true community is a group of people who come together to enrich the lives of all of its members and feel a shared sense of trust, connection and caring for one another.

At TLC Flooring we believe that you can show the importance of community through your own example and this month we were more than happy to contribute to the community through the annual “Halloween in the Hof” event by donating sweets and treats to the houses who participate.

Even though Halloween is not generally a big deal for most of South Africa, the community of Kirstenhof have come together year after year to make this a fun-filled day of community caring and kindness. Children (and adults too!) get dressed up and go “trick-or-treating” at selected houses that have opted to participate – it is an absolute blast as you walk down the streets running into your neighbours, the other parents from school, local business owners and even our local ward council members who all get into the spirit of things to make important memories for the children of Kirstenhof and the surrounding areas.

Participating in a community bonded by attitudes, values, and goals is an essential ingredient to enjoying a fulfilling life – we all need community in our lives. The beauty of communities is that you can contribute just by participating. Just showing up for your community can enrich your life and the lives of others, and we couldn’t be prouder to do our part for our community.
